8 Lessons From My Burj Khalifa Experience

On 1st June 2022, I was in Dubai and I had the chance to visit the Burj Khalifa. The Burj is the tallest man made structure on land in the whole world as recorded by the Guinness World Records.

Getting to the very top of the building was exhilarating and at the same time overwhelming to say the least. It made me reflect on Success as a mountain/building TOP experience. Now during the activity, the following thoughts were running through my mind:

1. It takes courage to get to the top. The climb to the top experientially requires mental toughness and an attitude of fortitude.

2. You can either use stairs or an elevator to get to the top. Both are allowed. Stairs are hectic — Quite some suffering. Elevators are easier but still challenging because an elevator has its own guidelines for getting you to the TOP.

3. It’s one thing to get to the TOP but it’s another to stay at the TOP. Being established at the TOP requires a certain mindset, culture, attitude and behavior.

4.It’s not crowded at the TOP. Very few people really dare to take the journey to the TOP. Most are quite fearful to even try.

5. It’s lonely at the TOP. Unfortunately the journey to the TOP is one that requires one to really journey alone. It’s not a group venture. Because of this…
