AVOID PLACEBO EFFECTS: PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSOLATIONS
“A rich mindset must result in a rich life otherwise it’s a placebo effect. Great plans and intentions must manifest into great works otherwise it’s just psychological consolation.”
The placebo effect is a medical phenomenon in which some people experience a benefit after being given an inactive substance. Basically, a placebo is a fake medicine (e.g. sterile water, saline solution or a sugar pill.) Funny enough, when it’s given to a patient, the patient has a very real recovery response. Not because the fake medicine works, but because the expectation of the patient to recover plays a significant role. Placebos are sometimes given to stubborn patients who insist that they will only get better if medicine is administered even when their sickness is more of a mental state than a physical state. Having said that I want to address our love for placebos psychologically and how they give us consolations. Most of us love to console ourselves with a thinking pattern that does not produce real results yet it makes us feel as if we have real results.
In other words, a rich mindset must result in a rich life otherwise it’s a placebo effect. Great plans and intentions must manifest into great works otherwise it’s just psychological consolation.
I challenge to stop hiding behind motivational quotes, prayers, great strategies, plans, declarations and confessions. All these are good but be practical otherwise you will be a poor person who thinks wealthy, feels wealthy, believes wealthy and behaves wealthy. Resolve to do away with psychological consolations! Do away with these placebos effects!
