“Most people don’t grow up. Most people age. They find parking spaces, honor their credit cards, get married, have children, and call that maturity.” Maya Angelou

When people mistreat, and mishandle you, it’s mostly because of their own insecurities and fears. You don’t know what anger they carry from where they are coming from. You may not be aware of how they woke up and what mood they are in. It’s therefore too much for you to carry the responsibility for someone’s ill behavior towards you. Trust me. It’s not you. It’s them.

What happens when you react to someone mistreating you? You get caught up in an ongoing ripple of reaction, and counter reaction from one insecure person to another.

May I urge you today to part away with such. How? Stop being reactive, and instead be proactive. Be at a place where you respond. Don’t react. People will taunt you, ridicule you, make fun of you or even insult you.

First of all, realize that it’s their issue. Not yours. They have a problem and not you. Secondly realize that when this happens, it’s them, who are being little children. What do you do with little children; you simply either give them their feeding bottle, or help change their soiled diaper.

Today, be the grown up one. Be the mature one!
