DON’T SLEEP ON YOUR SKILL
Friends, one of the worst things you can ever do to yourself is to sleep on your skill. By sleep, I am referring to that inability to stay woke to your skill. It’s the inability to develop or fully maximize on one’s abilities.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 — “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might….”
Now why is it important for you to stay woke when it comes to your skill?
Firstly, your skill needs development through practice. In most developed countries, skill development is given great attention. From career and business based academies to sport based academies, to music, dance, fashion, art and other academies that exist just to harness and develop skill because you kill the skill you don’t develop.
Secondly, you need to stay woke to your skill because anytime your skill loses context, you gain little or nothing out of it. E.g. Yes, you can be a great carpenter but if you have no idea about how to make modern furniture, then your carpentry skills are instantly rendered irrelevant.
Thirdly, your skill must be a major source of income. Top achievers are top achievers concentrate on their skill while average people have a very silly tendency of abandoning what they are number one at to go and earn a living doing something they are number 10 at.
Proverbs 18:16 — A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.
Don’t sleep on your skill. Stay WOKE!
