“I would love to prove a point but I think it’s wiser to allocate my resources towards more worth while things. I am a limited edition with a limited time on this earth and I have to make my time and life worthwhile.” Dr. Walubita Siyanga

Friends, the greatest mark of maturity is the ability to give up the urge to prove a point or try to be a people pleaser. People may misjudge you and perceive you wrongly. They may demean you and ill treat you because of how they think about you and you may feel the need to hit back or justify yourself and set the record straight. But the question is why waste time, money, emotional energy, words and mental space implementing a come back or hit back?

I have learnt this about life: You cannot please everybody and you can’t satisfy a hater. Also, there are people who have made it their life’s purpose to criticize you and misunderstand you. The more you try to explain yourself, the more you are seen as guilty and only trying to justify yourself.

So do yourself a favor and Mind your own life! Succeed for yourself and not to prove a point. Be honest with and for yourself. Live well for you. Dress well for you. Be a good person not for applause but for you. If they talk, keep succeeding. If they lie keep living and growing. When you stumble and fall, be the first to laugh at yourself. Laugh hard, dust yourself and keep going. Don’t go broke trying to keep up with the Joneses, its immature. Set a higher standard for yourself and refuse to live by the average standards and expectations set for you by others. Be better. Be bigger. Be strong. Do it all independent of the need to prove a point.

God bless you!
