IF YOU ARE GOING TO CLEAN THE HOUSE EFFECTIVELY, YOU HAVE TO SEE THE DIRT FIRST
A lot of people want change and a lot of people want transformation. Many of us want to get rid of our destructive ways. We want to improve our lives and we want to get rid of all of those self-sabotaging ways that erode our few attempts at making progress.
Well today I want to challenge you with this thought: In order to sweep your house, you have to first see the dirt. Friends, many people know that their house is dirty. (By house I mean our own lives.) But because they can’t identify the dirt, sweeping it becomes ineffective or even impossible.
So let me get practical here: Until you Identify and admit what your problem is, you can’t change it. If you are a liar but you can’t call yourself a liar you will never change that. If you are promiscuous and you can’t admit that you sleep around to yourself, you will never change that. If you have an alcohol or drug problem and you honestly can’t confront yourself with the truth about your issue, that issue can’t be cleaned. So stop saying “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” That is not true! What is wrong with you is the the thing you are failing to admit to yourself.
Friends, my candid advise today is please admit that issue to yourself before it destroys you. Be honest about your dirt. Am not asking you to admit this to anyone else. No! Am asking you to admit it to yourself and call your dirt out for what it is.
So this is the thought today: If you are going to clean the house you have to see the dirt first.
