“We can’t keep playing catch up as we have done for every season I’ve been here.” ~ Paul Ince

The term “Playing catch up” means “To work at reaching the same level of insight or accomplishment as others especially after a late start.” Simply put, If you are not steps ahead in any endeavor, then you are busy working at catching up. This is true in business, careers and even in sports. Either you are falling behind, or you are ahead. With matters of progress, there is no middle ground. Friends, there is huge advantage and wisdom to being steps ahead in any endeavor.

Unfortunately, however, we have so many people today who are comfortable playing catch up.

“They were always playing catch-up. I think playing catch-up the whole game, it takes something out of you at the end of the game.” — GREGG HOSTETLER

Friends, realize that in a world that is constantly evolving and moving at a fast pace, it has a actually become dangerous to play catch up. Why? Because growth today is exponential in many areas and so is decline. In today’s world, either you are increasing at a fast pace or dwindling at a fast pace. While others make huge profits fast, others make huge losses fast. Nowadays its either you have drastic improvements or drastic deterioration. With businesses closing and people losing jobs and money, the only way out of this is not just to level up. You must resolve to be a step ahead. Stop playing catch up. Be a step ahead constantly. 1 step, 3 steps or 10 steps. It does not matter as long as you keep from playing catch up.
