“If you stop focusing on other people’s life you’ll have more time to fix your own life.” Sonya Parker

One time I asked a group of people to describe each other on paper. They managed to write paragraphs about the other person they were paired with. Later, I asked them to describe themselves. They barely had words to make a paragraph. How easy it is to see the wrong in others and not ourselves.

How easy it is to advise others and not take our own advice. How easy it is to be strict on others yet slick on ourselves. How easy it is to judge others harshly yet excuse ourselves easily. We even justify why it’s ok for us to make mistakes but not others.

You must strive to turn your potential into reality at all costs. Stop being tough on others — Be tough on yourself first. Stop being strict with others.

Be strict on yourself first. Stop excusing yourself. Demand change from yourself first before you demand it from others. It’s hypocrisy to condemn others about what you yourself are guilty about. Better to quietly mind your own personal growth.
